Workshops
In the months leading up to the parade in June, we hold free public workshops for community members to build masks and puppets at farmers markets and community spaces. Our workshops are economically accessible and environmentally sustainable, using upcycled and eco-friendly materials like paper, cardboard and recycled paint.

Learn how to create your own giant puppets for the parade! In these lecture-demo sessions, we will begin by presenting on the basics of giant papier-mâché puppet-making, followed by an opportunity to start building your own puppet project. You'll take your work home to finish (i.e., you won’t be able to finish your project at this workshop) —and then bring it with you to the parade!
