Thank you for joining us for the third annual Everything Under the Sun Parade! Whether you signed up as a group or an individual, we’re so excited to have you be a part of this celebration of the creative power of everyday people. Come with your puppets, your costumes, or just join us in wearing the colors of the sun! If you want to borrow a shaker or a ribbon wand, we’ll have some on loan for anyone who wants one. Everyone is welcome to join!

Location

We’ll meet at the Llewellyn Elementary Schoolplayground and end at Sellwood Community House’s Shack at Sellwood Park. 


Parade Route

We’ll gather at the playground at Llewellyn Elementary School, walk east along SE Tolman St., head south down SE 13th, then west on SE Miller, and end up at Sellwood Park.

*NOTE: There are two additional entry points along the route for anyone who wants a shorter walk. They are at the Oaks Bottom Overlook (at SE Bybee and SE 13th Ave) and at SE Miller and SE 13th Ave.

Schedule

1:00 PM — Check-In Opens

  • Look for a check-in table with volunteers in yellow Everything Under the Sun t-shirts. They’ll help you find your spot in the lineup and answer any questions.

1:30 PM — Opening Ceremony!

  • All participants must be at Llewellyn and ready to begin the parade.

2:00 PM — Parade Begins  

  • We will be starting on time, so please be prompt! 

3:00 PM — Parade Finale

  • The parade will culminate with music, dance, and celebration at the end of the route. Stay in the park for Sellwood Community House’s planned festivities (go here for more info!).

Some other things to know:

Spectators: A prime viewing area for the parade is on SE Miller. You can watch the parade go by and then walk a short distance to the park to participate in the finale. 

No Storage On-Site: There is no secure storage at the park. Please keep your belongings with you!

Bring your own water & snacks, or grab something nearby in the Sellwood neighborhood.

Rain or Shine! Be prepared for any weather. We’ll bring the *Sun* (puppet)!

Individual Participants: If you signed up solo (not as part of a group), please allow a little extra time during check-in. A volunteer will help you find your place.

Donations: ClownBloc (a EUTS community partner) is partnering with another EUTS community partner, Hygiene4All, to help gather supplies for our unhoused neighbors. During the parade, they will be collecting donations from the community, and they are asking that you gather or purchase any of the following high-need items:

  • Adult Clothing
    Shoes
    New Socks/Underwear
    Soaps: Hair, Body, Hard Surface Cleaners
    Menstrual Supplies
    First Aid Kits
    Pet Food
    Tents
    Blankets
    Sleeping Bags
    Flashlights
    Reflective Gear
    Safety Gear

    You can drop these off at the start of the parade (at check-in), during, or at the end at Sellwood Park! Not able to bring some gear? No problem! Hygiene4All has a Venmo for monetary donations: @h4apdx
